Blood Sample Transport – An update.

In an update on the issue of the licencing of Skybus to carry blood samples, the Steamship Company is reported as telling Scilly Today that "the transferring of blood samples for mainland testing on the Gry Maritha has worked for the past four weeks, without complaint from the NHS".

See the full Scilly Today item here.

The Health Centre confirmed today that the Steamship Company and the crew of Gry Maritha had bent over backwards to help transport blood samples to the mainland.  However only 2 of the 3 weekly sailings (Tuesday and Thursday sailings) could be used for shipping samples and it was a far from ideal solution.  Resolving the issue remained a priority for them.
