The Council
of the IOS is undertaking a formal review into Sunday flying. Currently there are no commercial flights
into or out of St Mary’s Airport on a Sunday.
The Parsons Brinkerhoff report on St Mary’s Airport concluded that the
steady decline in Airport passenger numbers over recent years (which is
undermining Airport finances and the Island
tourism sector) was unlikely to be reversed without adopting Sunday
flying. The divisions in the community
