Sunday flying issue drives debate about IOS future.



The Scilly Today news item (click here) reporting the Council’s intention to review Sunday flying has picked up 54 reader's comments.  The debate has morphed into a debate about the future of the tourism industry and the the islands themselves. 

There is a brutal but convincingly argued assessment of the options in a comment from ‘Peter’  (July 31, 2013 at 11.42).

 Dick Cliffe, Penzance Chamber of Commerce Chairman and FRIST’s Penzance Coordinator commented on the debate:  “The islands seem to on course for Option 1 (Go for the high-end tourism with even fewer numbers than now) but there seems to have been limited debate about it despite the implications for the community."
